The economic value of functioning freshwater ecosystems is €49 trillion.
Incidentally, that is approximately 60% of global gross domestic product (GDP). At least, that is the WWF’s estimate for 2023. Water shortages are therefore costly, and dry separation toilets can help to reduce them.
