The blackout also paralyzed the water supply in Berlin on the 6th floor and above.
Incidentally, this applies not only to Berlin, but to many cities and communities around the world, as well as to sewage systems. We often use pumps, and they require electricity. Dry separation toilets may not be the right choice for the 6th floor, but they are still a viable alternative because they function independently.
