Our toilet: Seat safety

Date

Did you know that a chair in a public restroom has to support a weight of 400 kg? Does that sound like a lot? When it comes to our toilet, seat safety is a crucial consideration.

When you think about it, it’s not so surprising. A toilet has no armrests or other supports to help us lower ourselves onto the toilet chair. This means that the last few inches are in a virtual free fall onto the bowl.
So, in the moment of sitting down, we put a lot more weight on the chair.

In addition, at that time, our behinds are not protected by our clothes and can easily be injured if the toilet chair breaks under the weight of the user. As a public toilet provider, there are many liability issues to consider.

All public toilets in Germany must withstand a weight of 400 kg. So the industrial standard for non-sewered sanitary facilities (DIN 30762) takes up the same requirement: toilets that meet the standard have to be able to support 400 kg.

At ABEREUS, we respect and fulfill these DIN requirements and offer toilets that are safe to use and safe to provide. Our toilet chair has been tested and certified to support those 400 kg for over an hour, so you can feel not only relieved, but also safe in an ABEREUS toilet.
