Empowering Rural Communities in Germany

The LEADER program, part of the European Union’s Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), aims to enhance the quality of life in rural areas by promoting sustainable development and fostering cooperation among local stakeholders. In Germany, LEADER is implemented through 372 regions, each with its own Local Action Group (LAG). These LAGs are responsible for developing and executing regional development strategies tailored to the specific needs of their communities. The program supports a wide range of projects, including economic, social, cultural, and environmental initiatives.
