The “Grohe Water Insights 2025” study shows that Europe is willing to save water, but greatly underestimates its own water consumption. According to the survey, Europeans consume an average of 144 liters of water per day, while 79% of respondents believe their consumption is significantly lower. The main motivations for saving water are financial reasons (34%), followed by environmental and generational protection (23% each).
Despite the awareness of water efficiency, over a third of households have not yet installed any water-saving products. Obstacles include high costs (28%), lack of information (25%) and low interest (24%). Water-saving technologies such as Grohe’s EcoJoy can reduce water consumption by up to 50% and enable significant savings. A four-person household could save up to 47,000 liters of water and €573 per year. Even better are our dry separation toilets, where the entire water consumption of the toilet can be saved, which is around 13,000 liters per person per year.
